Important notice before updating to version 7.0.0

TWINT for WooCommerce

 

You are receiving this email because your account at mamedev.ch has at least one active license for the plugin TWINT for WooCommerce , but the new integration via PSP mame has not yet been set up.

Important change in version 7.0

Starting with version 7.0, the previous TWINT integration via certificate will be removed.

To ensure that TWINT payments continue to work, you must switch to the new integration via PSP mame before updating to version 7.0.

 


How to migrate

  1. Update the plugin
    Update the plugin to the latest version (currently 7.0.0).
    You can do this in your WordPress backend under "Plugins" or download the plugin from your account at mamedev.ch.
  2. Create a new store in the TWINT portal
    • Type: Standard
    • Integration type: "PSP" and "mame"
  3. Run the setup assistant
    In your WordPress backend under "WooCommerce > Settings > TWINT" and complete all steps.
    Alternatively, use the setup assistant in your account at mamedev.ch under "Dashboard > Applications > TWINT".

Why this change?

Since version 6.0 of the TWINT for WooCommerce plugin, the new integration via mame servers has been available. It provides enhanced security as well as improved performance, since the payment process no longer runs on your own server. In addition, certain features such as subscription payments and express checkout are only supported with this integration.

Maintaining and developing two separate solutions requires significant effort. Therefore, we are focusing exclusively on the technically superior solution going forward.

Why are transaction fees charged?

With the new integration, the entire payment process is handled via mame's infrastructure instead of your own server. This provides several advantages:

The transaction fees cover the operational and infrastructure costs (server hosting, security, monitoring, and support) required for this solution.
